I realized my last sentence below is confusing. What I meant to say is:
If you try to press the button to check charge right after...or shortly after plugging it in, it ends up powering the entire unit up. If left to charge for a while, you can check charge but it only shows a battery icon...no %.
following up: it appears if the unit is left to charge for a while, you are able to press the power button to check charge, but it just shows a green battery icon. There is no % level charged.

Is it possible to re-map this feature to one of the front buttons such as the "select" button "O"? Those buttons seem better suited for "short" pressess. Maybe if the feature worked using the power button, re-mapping would not be necessary.

Everytime I press the power button, either nothing happens or the unit powers up.
